Major Toms

Major Toms is a record label and publishing company founded by multi-platinum award-winning dance collective Rudimental. Having scored three #1 singles, two #1 albums, touring the world's most prestigious venues and festivals to collaborating with some of the biggest names in music, the band may just resemble being a hit machine to many onlookers. However, the members of Rudimental have always envisaged a much more meaningful and lasting philosophy for their project. The nurturing of new talent has always been something that all four members care about deeply. “When we did our first album, we brought through MNEK, Ella Eyre, and John Newman,” explains band member Piers Aggett. “It just happened because we were all such close friends and loved being together. Then they all came on tour with us and quickly got record deals. We saw that and thought: next time, let's sign one of them ourselves and help build their career.”

This became the focus of their record label, Major Toms, and when they discovered the promising young singer Anne-Marie a few years ago, they decided they weren’t going to let the opportunity pass them by. They took her on tour and developed her as an artist. Fast forward a few years later and Anne-Marie has now had a top five album, three top ten singles and even featured on a Christmas number one in Clean Bandit’s “Rockabye”. Now Major Toms has signed the British popstar Ella Henderson and rising star MORGAN, with a view to building a blueprint for success. “Rudimental is a really tight family,” explains Amir Amor. “Everyone that comes in gets brought into the family, and it's more than just music. It's like a school, but like the funnest school you've ever gone to.”

To Rudimental, the idea of what their project could be is forever expanding. They've recently set up the publishing arm of Major Toms. Already they have signed two members of their extended Rudimental family - their drummer Beanie Bhebhe and guitarist/bassist Renell Shaw - both of whom have writing credits on a slew of Rudimental tracks. In addition to bringing aboard talented songwriter and rapper Tike Turner. Major Toms also hosts events and already has an annual Ibiza residency with appearances from some of the most big and exciting names in music. The idea of limits seems ridiculous for the guys - “the future of Rudimental is going to be all about the talent we bring through on this label and publishing,” concludes Locksmith. “We want Major Toms to become like the next Motown Records.
