Marius Moga

MARIUS MOGA was born in Romania, in the historic city of Alba Iulia. After learning to play the piano, he moved on to sequencers, synthesizers and programming, so by the time he was 16, he had written songs for 11 local acts ranging from pop/dance to R'n'B and club. At 18 years old he caught a train to Bucharest to chase his dream. A couple of months later, he achieved his first No.1 with the pop band Akcent, signed by Roton Romania. The song generated a significant interest in the young producer, and he was in high demand, soon working with almost all the big names around at the time. Marius Moga became a brand, delivering hits and new acts signed with BMG, Sony and Roton.

Moga also worked on projects with Universal Music and Sony BMG. He did various productions and remixes for international artists such as Lumidee, Hilary Duff, Infernal, RBD and also wrote songs for numerous Greek, Bulgarian and Russian artists.

O-Zone's no. 1 international hit "Dragostea din tei" ("The Numa-Numa song") was produced in Moga's Bucharest studio.

Moga's achievements include 12 gold and platinum discs all together,5 MTV awards (2X Best Video as director), Best Producer, Best Album, and Best Romanian Song at the 2008 EMA's in Liverpool, to name a few. He now owns a studio in Bucharest, Romania, but regularly flies to London and Los Angeles, working to produce pop and urban tracks for upcoming artists.

His music has been featured in movie soundtracks for Tony Scott's Domino (starring Keira Knightley and Mickey Rourke), Simon Fellows' 7 Seconds (starring Wesley Snipes) and two other Romanian films, one of which was selected for a movie festival in Berlin.

Moga also scored television series One Step Ahead, Daria, My Love, andRich Man - Poor Man (produced by Media Pro Pictures for CME). He has worked with director Anthony Hickox on the series Shoot Me! and he has written music for Fashion TV.

One of Marius Moga’s main projects, where he serves as manager, producer, composer, singer and video director, is the record-breaking-sensation band Morandi, a collaborative project with Andrei Ropcea.

The band had released 4 successful albums so far. All their singles peaked at No. 1 in Russia, Poland, The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Ukraine, and were widely played in Egypt, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Spain, Turkey, Italy and Greece.

Morandi’s third album, N3XT, went 5x platinum in Russia, making them the best selling artist in Russia of all time and one of the most successful bands in Eastern Europe.

Their hit "Angels (Love is the Answer)" is the most downloaded digital product ever in Russia and Ukraine. The single totalled 554,975 plays on 122 radio stations in 413 Russian cities, averaging 14,999 plays per week and 2,142 plays per day all across Russia for more than 9 months. Armin van Buuren and Paul van Dyk, two of the best DJs in the world, are currently playing Moga's remixed 'Angels' with phenomenal response from the audiences.

The group has performed over 100 international concerts in countries including the UK, Russia, Spain, Italy, Greece, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan and the Baltic countries. Morandi has received many awards in recognition of their international success, such as Best Romanian Act at the Liverpool EMA's and the Best International Hit Award at the Eska Awards in Poland, where they performed as special guests together with The Pussycat Dolls, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Akon and Ne-Yo.
Moga has also directed music videos, and his work as director won him 2 MTV Best Video Awards. Being versatile and interested in all aspects of creation, he's also developed his skills as a manager and music publisher.

In 2011, he got involved with one of Romania’s biggest TV shows, The Voice of Romania, where he is featured as a coach on the show. After the first season, some of his team members earned radio and television air time.

His song "The Man Who Never Lied" was part of Maroon 5's hit album Overexposed, which has sold over a million records worldwide, and Moga also penned The Voice-winner Jermaine Paul's debut single "I Believe In This Life."
