Asa Taccone

ASA TACCONE is an award-winning and versatile musician whose experience extends into theater and television. In addition to being lead singer and the main songwriter for his band Electric Guest, Taccone co-wrote and co-produced the No. 1 hit “Feel It Still,” which earned rock band Portugal. The Man a 2018 Grammy Award for “Best Pop Duo / Group Performance.” Taccone has also written and produced songs for Charlotte Gainsbourg, Melvv, Amine, and most recently, Cold War Kids, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Phantogram.

Since 2005, Taccone has written and produced music for Saturday Night Live’s Digital Shorts, with songs performed by musical comedy trio The Lonely Island (of which Asa’s brother Jorma is a member of). Taccone won an Emmy for “Dick In A Box,” was nominated for “Motherlover,” and wrote music for countless other Digital Shorts including “I’m On A Boat” and “Like A Boss.”

Taccone’s songwriting-for-television resumé includes penning music for Lady Gaga’s episode on The Simpsons, Kanye West’s episode on The Cleveland Show, Charles Bradley’s episode on American Dad, songs on Portlandia including “Dream Of The 90s,” and more. 

In theater, Taccone composed the music for Broadway’s “Bridge & Tunnel.” The show earned the 2006 Special Tony Award, giving Taccone the prestige of being the youngest composer in that season’s Playbill Broadway Yearbook.
