Fred again.. named BRITs Producer of the Year

Ahead of the awards next month, songwriter & producer Fred again.. has been named this year’s BRITs Producer of the Year.

The youngest person ever to win the award, Fred has been working with some of the biggest names in music since he was a teen, collaborating with a diverse roster of artists, including Brian Eno, Burna Boy, and Justin Bieber.

Working on Eno & Hyde’s acclaimed 2014 albums ‘High Life’ and ‘Someday World,’ Fred swiftly followed this up with the Ivor Novello nominated ‘Bleeds’ by Roots Manuva. His musical mark has gone on to be all over some of the biggest commercially and critically successful records of recent times.

2019 saw Fred’s work spending fourteen weeks in total at number one, including with Ed Sheeran’s collaborations with Khalid, Stormzy and Justin Bieber, George Ezra’s 4x platinum hit ‘Shotgun,’ Mist and Fredo’s ‘So High’ and the first No 1 single of 2020 – Stormzy's ‘Own It.’

With the xx’s Romy Madley Croft saying: “I’m always amazed at Fred’s ability to dance effortlessly between so many different styles of music, people and situations, with conviction and grace. He’s the realest Chameleon I know,” and Mist refering to him as “the modern Beethoven”, it’s clear how well-respected Fred is amongst his peers.

Huge congratulations to Fred for this well-deserved accolade.

The BRIT Awards 2020 will take place on Tuesday 18 February at The O2 Arena in London. UMPG’s Billie Eilish and Harry Styles will perform. Read about our nominees here
