Adele was the big winner at last night’s BRIT awards, collecting a total of four trophies: British Female Solo Artist, Mastercard British Album of the Year for ‘25’, British Single for ‘Hello’ and Global Success. Her win made her the most successful solo artist in any one year in the history of the awards, and she now has eight BRITS in total.
An emotional Adele said: “To come back after so long away and be so warmly received means so much." She then proceeded to bring the house down with a flawless rendition of single ‘When We Were Young (co-written by Tobias Jesso Jr).
A exuberant Coldplay were awarded best British Group – having opened the show with a technicolour performance of their latest singel - the soaring ‘Hymn for the Weekend’. UMPG US signing Justin Bieber won the International Male Solo Artist trophy.
