BRIT Awards nominations 2015

The nominees for the BRIT Awards 2015 were announced last night, with songwriters and artists signed to Universal Music Publishing receiving five nominations.

Paloma Faith, Lily Allen and Jessie Ware have all been nominated in the Female Solo Artist category.  "It's really reassuring as an artist, you feel like maybe you're doing something right," Jessie Ware told the BBC News website. "Like a big old hug."

Coldplay, who released their sixth studio album ‘Ghost Stories’ in May 2014, received a nomination for Best Group.

Currently recording their second studio album, Chvrches were nominated in the category for Best Breakthrough Act.

Various UMP songwriters were involved in Best Album nominations for Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith, including Jimmy Napes, Will Phillips, Gary Lightbody and Wretch 32. Our songwriters were also involved in four nominations for Best British Single: Clean Bandit feat. Jess Glynne’s ‘Rather Be’, Sam Smith’s ‘Stay With Me’, Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars’ ‘Uptown Funk’ and Sigma’s ‘Nobody To Love’.

The winners are to be announced at the O2 Arena on 25th February.

Congratulations and good luck to all our nominees!
