UMPG artists and songwriters were honoured at the 2026 Deutscher Musikautor*innenpreis der GEMA (German Songwriter Award by GEMA) held last Thursday in Berlin, celebrating outstanding creative achievement across Germany’s songwriting landscape.

The band BLOND won in the category Text Singer/Songwriter, recognised for their bold and authentic songwriting.

Dominik Hartz was awarded in the category Nachwuchs (Newcomer), highlighting his distinctive lyrical style and fresh perspective within the new generation of German songwriters.

Catalogue artist Udo Lindenberg received the award for Inspiration, honouring his decades-long impact on German music and culture and his enduring influence as one of the country’s most iconic songwriters.
