A PRS for Music survey has seen The Pogues’ ‘Fairytale of New York’ ranked number 1 in the nation’s top 20 favourite Christmas song, with Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ (4) and Bing Crosby’s ‘White Christmas’ (6), written by Irving Berlin, also on the list.

The survey also revealed that despite it being beaten to the number one spot on the charts at the time of its release, 57% of Brits thought ‘Fairytale of New York’ had topped the charts.
