The Cure win two GRAMMY awards, as their post-punk classic

The Cure win two GRAMMY awards, as their post-punk classic "Boys Don’t Cry” climbs the UK charts

The Cure have earned their first ever GRAMMY wins – taking home Best Alternative Music Performance (“Alone”) and Best Alternative Music Album (Songs Of A Lost World) at the 2026 awards.

The Cure’s classic song "Boys Don’t Cry” recently surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify, and the band are in the running for a UK Top 20 this week, which would be a brand-new peak for the track.

Written by Robert Smith and released in the late 1970’s, "Boys Don’t Cry” sounded upbeat, almost playful, but hid something much deeper underneath – flipping the idea of emotional toughness on its head. The song tells a story about heartbreak, vulnerability, and all the feelings men were told not to show. A post-punk classic, a pop anthem, and an emotional statement all at once - "Boys Don’t Cry” is a song that continues to resonate.

Congratulations to The Cure on their two GRAMMY wins, and for the enduring impact of their timeless songs, which continue to connect across generations.
