Elton John releases a limited edition box set ‘Classic Album Selection (1970 – 73)’ on Monday 16th July, comprising of five classic albums: ‘Elton John’, ‘Tumbleweed Connection’, ‘Madman Across The Water’, ‘Honky Chateau’ and ‘Don’t Shoot Me I’m Only The Piano Player’. These albums provided the backbone of Elton’s early career, and included hits such as ‘Your Song’, ‘Tiny Dancer’, ‘Rocket Man’, ‘Crocodile Rock’ and ‘Daniel.’

Josh Osho releases his debut album ‘L.I.F.E.’ today – a collection of expertly crafted songs underpinned by Josh’s soulful vocals. The heartfelt lyrics on the album draw on Josh’s troubled upbringing, showcasing his innate ability to impart life lessons and experiences through his music whilst still retaining an innate pop sensibility.

Fixers release their debut album today ‘We’ll Be The Moon’. The album promises to be a “kaleidoscopic, psychedelic adventure” –  ranging from the haunting ambience of ‘Amsterdam' to the dancefloor oriented ‘Crystals’, and includes single ‘Iron Deer Dream’.

Mika gives a taster of what's to come on his forthcoming album 'The Origin of Love' with a video for new song 'Make You Happy' - a track co-written with Fryars. Mika explains, "This is not a single but a song I really love and wanted to share with you. I commissioned a short film which I felt perfectly captured the sentiment of the track." 

AlunaGeorge's 'You Know You Like It' EP is released on CD and vinyl today on Tri Angle Records, showcasing sultry vocals atop glitchy garage basslines and smooth R&B melodies. This week saw the unveiling of the breathtaking new video for Florence + The Machine's 'Spectrum', directed by David LaChapelle who hails the song as "a modern classic". Florence described working with the photographer and artist as "a dream come true".

Coldplay release 'Princess of China' today, featuring vocals from Rihanna and accompanied by a dazzling video. The song is the fourth single from the band's fifth studio album 'Mylo Xyloto'.

You can forgive Sigur Rós for being hazy on the details of the recording of their sixth studio album ‘Valtari’.  Recordings started as far back as 2007 on the back of album ‘Takk...’, but ‘Valtari’ actually has its roots earlier still, in a 2002 collaboration with the 16 Choir at London’s Barbican Centre.  Constituent parts were also taken from 2009’s sessions around the last album, ‘Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust’, plus from sessions from a film score that never saw the light of day.

In 2011, the band started the painstaking task of piecing together a cohesive and magical work from disparate constituent parts – breaking the songs apart, discarding elements and adding others, and putting them back together again.
