Fixers release their debut album today ‘We’ll Be The Moon’
The Oxford based five piece, comprising of Jack Goldstein (lead vocals), Roo Basin (guitar), Chris Dawson (guitar), Jason Warner (bass) and Michael Thompson (drums), came together in 2010, playing their first gig before they’d even properly rehearsed as a band. Jack said the experience was “an incredible eye opener” and helped the band find their musical direction. He explains, “instead of going, ‘can we get away with this music?’, we suddenly realised we didn’t need permission.”
The band have cited The Beach Boys as a huge influence, although rather than trying to emulate the sound of that era, they want to, “replicate the feeling you had when you first heard it.”.
The album promises to be a “kaleidoscopic, psychedelic adventure” – ranging from the the haunting ambience of ‘Amsterdam' to the dancefloor oriented ‘Crystals’, and includes single ‘Iron Deer Dream’.
‘We’ll Be The Moon’ is released 18 June on Vertigo.
