The Undertones' self-titled debut album was recorded at Eden Studios in London in early 1979 and released in May that year.

A re-released version of the album was issued in October 1979 including their classic hits: 'Teenage Kicks' and 'Get Over You' alongside both 'Jimmy Jimmy' and a single version of 'Here Comes The Summer'. The album is still considered to be one of the great punk/new wave albums of all time, and was described by AllMusic Guide as "a perfect album."

Two years after his eponymous debut album, James Blake returns with his second LP ‘Overgrown’. Daughter release their debut album ‘If You Leave’ today on 4AD. The band -  Elena Tonra, Igor Haefeli and Remi Aguilella - started garnering attention at the end of 2010, posting dark, ethereal and beautiful songs online, before releasing their debut EP ‘His Young Heart’ in 2011. Deptford Goth releases his anticipated debut LP ‘Life After Defo’ today on Merok Records.  An album of haunting electronic soul, ‘Life After Defo’ manages to combine aching melancholy with an equally potent sense of euphoria – with album highlights including ‘Feel Real’ and ‘Union’. Deptford Goth (who admits to being neither a goth nor quite from Deptford) describes his music as “sitting somewhere between real and synthetic”.

Bastille's debut album ‘Bad Blood’ has shot straight to the top of the UK album charts.
