UMPG named Publisher of the Year at Annual ASCAP Pop Awards

Universal Music Publishing Group was named Publisher of the Year at the 35th Annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards in Los Angeles. The company’s songwriters contributed to 22 of ASCAP’s Most Performed Pop Songs of 2017. Special honours were given to Steve Mac who was awarded Songwriter of the Year and Song of the Year for “Shape Of You.” Justin Bieber’s “Despacito” was awarded Most Streamed Song of the Year.

UMPG works with Havas, Mercury KX and Sharps Brewery to create 'KEYNVOR'

Keynvor is a new project from Mercury KX in collaboration with artist Sebastian Plano. The Keynvor campaign, which comes in association with Havas London and Sharp’s Brewery Atlantic Pale Ale, will be funding its own Ocean conservation through the release of a new single ‘Preservation’.

New website launched to honour the legacy of Irving Berlin

The family of Irving Berlin, in conjunction with his publishers Concord Music (North America) and Universal Music Publishing Group (rest of World), today announced the launch of a new website to honour the seminal musician in celebration of his 130th birthday. Created to pay tribute to Irving Berlin’s life and legendary works, this is the first time a dedicated digital resource has existed online for the man epitomized by Jerome Kern's famous maxim: "Irving Berlin has no place in American music - he is American music."
