Bio
Born to a Japanese mother and an American father, KOHKI grew up in Japan surrounded by diverse musical influences that shaped his global-pop sensibility. At 21, while studying at Sophia University, he began his career as a songwriter with Universal Music Publishing Japan, collaborating with creators from Japan, Sweden, China, Malaysia, and the United States.
In 2025, he moved to New York to explore new creative and industry possibilities. Now in 2026, his mission is clear: to become a bridge between J-POP and the global music scene - both behind the scenes as a songwriter and on stage as an artist.
Known for his unique melodic style and lyrical rhythm, KOHKI has contributed to major releases for SixTONES, King & Prince, INI, timelesz, Travis Japan, and more. He actively participates in international songwriting camps and exchange programs, continuing to expand his reach across borders.
