Phil Thornalley

Phil Thornalley is a writer, producer and musician with a long and colourful career.

He is probably best known for co-writing and producing the international smash 'Torn' for Natalie Imbruglia, but his early career involved playing bass for The Cure and producing their records ('Love Cats', 'Pornography'). He also mixed and produced hit records for Prefab Sprout ('When Love Breaks Down') , DuranDuran, The Waterboys, Sting ('Spread A Little Happiness') and Ash ('Girl From Mars').

In recent years Phil co-wrote and produced two No. 1 singles on both the sales and airplay charts - Pixie Lott’s 'Mama Do' and 'Boys & Girls'. Her third single 'Cry Me Out' (again co-written and produced by Phil) was also a No. 1 airplay record and 'Mama Do' was nominated for Best British Single at the 2010 Brit Awards.

Other songs co-written by Phil include 'Go Home' on Eliza Doolittle’s Platinum selling debut album; three original songs for the hit West End show 'Dreamboats & Petticoats'; 'Kiss The Stars' a UK top ten in 2012 from Pixie Lott’s second album; and 'That's Rock And Roll" on Bryan Adams 2015 album 'Get Up'.

Some of Phil’s previous hits include Natalie Imbruglia’s multi million selling debut album ('Torn' and 'Wishing I Was There' ); Ronan Keating 'The Way You Make Me Feel' and BBMak 'Back Here', a US No 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart for 11 weeks. Phil also has a co-publishing venture, Dalmatian Music, with UMPG.
