Nevaeh Jolie

NEVAEH JOLIE (he/him) holds no hesitation when it comes to inviting listeners to get lost in his rich lyrics and sonic sound. He unleashes his musical talents for the world to enjoy by delivering a creative blend of Alt-R&B with hints of rock, hip-hop, and pop.

Nevaeh’s musical inspirations are rooted in his Florida childhood – both at home and at school. An elementary school teacher of his would play music from the Beatles, some vintage folk and even a bit of classic rock changing Nevaeh’s musical taste forever. “Hearing those genres expanded my musical horizons,” says the singer-songwriter, who also grew up listening to the likes of Erykah Badu, Sade, and Lauryn Hill at home. He also credits Frank Ocean, Bryson Tiller, and Drake as influences who reinforced his love of dynamic storytelling. “Writing has been my passion since I was 8,” Nevaeh says. “I always carried around a journal and always wrote.”

Nevaeh hopes to work through tough emotions and lift his mood, as well as the mood of others, with his music. “Music has always been a release,” says the singer-songwriter. “Writing poems and talking about pain, it’s the way I expressed myself. It’s an escape, and that’s what I want to provide for others.”

During his freshman year of high school, Nevaeh began laying down solo tracks via in-home recordings. Soon he was showcasing his talent for his 40k plus followers on Instagram by posting covers and freestyles, which began to make waves in the music industry. The contemporary R&B tracks “Tryin’,” (which he wrote in math class) and “Sorry” (a diss track to his ex and has over 23k streams on Spotify) were just a couple of the first singles he released independently.

The precocious talents of the high school teenager attracted the attention of now-manager, Max Gousse of Artistry Group who discovered Nevaeh via social media. He heard the song “Tryin’ ” and encouraged Nevaeh to move to Los Angeles and pursue music full-time. In early 2019, Nevaeh moved to LA and started working with notable producer, London on Da Track (Lil Wayne, Drake, Post Malone) who, alongside Gousse was instrumental in connecting him with Def Jam, with which he signed later that year. “Def Jam feels like family,” says Nevaeh. “The vibes are just here.”

During the 2020 pandemic, Nevaeh inked a deal with United Talent Agency and released his first slew of official singles including “Too Much” (written by Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” Grammy winning writer, Jozzy) “OTB (Ol’ Thing Back)”, and “Screwed Up ft. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie”. “Screwed Up” achieved over 1.8 million accumulative Spotify streams across the main single and its remix pack. In the midst of Nevaeh preparing to release his forthcoming debut album in 2022, he is continuously evolving at his craft. With plans to trailblaze the music, film, fashion, gaming, and tech space, Nevaeh is an artistic one-of-a-kind force not to be reckoned with.
