Lil Yachty

LIL YACHTY is a 24-year old Atlanta native, a Grammy-nominated singer, rapper, producer, creative designer, branding genius and fashion icon who smashed onto the scene in 2016 with his debut mixtape Lil Boat. The sound of his debut mixtape was prophetic, creating a new wave of hip hop while laying out the blueprint for many of today’s most popular rap stars to follow. In 2017, he released Teenage Emotions which entered the Billboard Top 200 at #5 and the 2018 follow up, Lil Boat 2, peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200. Lil Yachty unleashes a sound that effortlessly and constantly bounces between rap to pop creating something entirely his own.

The creative sensation, who became famous thanks to a series of upbeat mixtapes and humorous viral moments, does not consider himself a rapper, but an artist, which is why he is able to glide effortlessly between rap and pop. This mindset of constant evolution led to the subsequent capping off of the Lil Boat trilogy that put him on the map. With Lil Boat 3 and the subsequent deluxe album LB3.5, the third and final installment of the famed Lil Boat series ushered in a new era for the 24-year old rapper, showcasing his growth as both an artist and a man - gone were the days of the “king of the teens”. With features from A$AP Rocky, Tyler The Creator, Future, Young Thug, Lil Durk, Lil Keed, Drake, DaBaby, Tierra Whack and more, the highly anticipated 19-track studio album paid respects to the fun-loving Lil Boat while making clear that Yachty’s sound is ever-evolving.

Although Lil Yachty hails from Atlanta, he has been outspoken about his support of the Michigan rap scene, with the midwest style energizing the rapper to create a project that was unlike any prior works from the young artist. In February 2020, he released a video for his song, “Royal Rumble,” which introduced this new era and led to the release of his highly-anticipated 2021 mixtape Michigan Boy Boat. The 14-track offering featured a comprehensive who’s who of rappers from Detroit and Flint including Tee Grizzley, Sada Baby, Babyface Ray, Louis Ray, YN Jay, RMC Mike, Veeze, Baby Smoove, Icewear Vezzo, Rio Da Yung OG, Baby Tron, Krispy Life Kidd, and Slap Savage.

With his finger constantly on the pulse of culture, Yachty has utilized his unmatched sense of what’s next to expand his career into other entertainment verticals, and to delve into the business realm. He recently announced a deal with HBO Max for Yachty to star in the upcoming dramedy series 'Public Figures', a show loosely based on Yachty's life, following a group of friends in NYC and their comedic pursuit of becoming influencers. He has amassed a growing list of projects and investments, including developing a heist movie based on the beloved card game Uno, partnering with Reese’s Puffs cereal, launching his own cryptocurrency YachtyCoin, investing in the novel dating-app Lox Club with Bhad Bhabie, partnering with Amazon on a variety show for their new app Amp and more. With so much on the horizon, Lil Yachty is poised to continue his evolution from rapper to mogul in 2022 and beyond.
