Ice Cube

When rap exploded creatively and commercially in the late 1980s, ICE CUBE was at the forefront of the expansion. As the lyrical brains behind N.W.A, the Los Angeles-based rapper instantly became a major player in the music game by leading a musical revolution with brutal, profane, politically-infused music that, for the first time in the genre's history, sold millions of albums with N.W.A's Straight Outta Compton. As a solo artist, Ice Cube became rap's premier act with the release of the searing masterpieces AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted and Death Certificate.

Hailed as one of the 10 Greatest MCs of All Time (MTV), Ice Cube has released nine studio albums—AmeriKKa’s Most Wanted (1990), Death Certificate (1991), The Predator (1992), Lethal Injection (1993), War & Peace Vol.1 (1998), War & Peace Vol.2 (2000), Laugh Now, Cry Later (2006), Raw Footage (2008), I Am the West (2010)—and has been featured with Hip Hop heavy hitters Snoop Dogg, Westside Connection, Ice-T, and Public Enemy.

In addition to being one of the greatest and most controversial MCs in the game, Ice Cube has become one of Hollywood’s most bankable actors. With breakout roles in classics like Boyz ‘N the Hood, Higher Learning, and Friday, Ice Cube proved he could hold his own on the big screen. Since then, Cube has created profitable franchises in the Friday, Barbershop, and Are We There Yet? features; co-stared with top actors such as George Clooney, Samuel L. Jackson, and Loretta Devine; and continues to diversify his acting resume, most recently with the box office smash Ride Along, co-starring comedian Kevin Hart in 2014.

Returning to his first love of music, Ice Cube’s latest release, and landmark tenth studio album, Everythang’s Corrupt is set to be released in May 2014.
