Artists and writers signed to Universal Music Publishing have received 6 nominations for the 62nd Ivor Novello awards. Coldplay, Laura Mvula, Adele, Tobias Jesso Jr and Josh Homme are amongst the artists and writers in the running.

Rokstone Music/ UMPG writer Steve Mac is celebrating three No.1’s in the first six months of the year: his massive hit, 'Shape of You', by Ed Sheeran (produced by Mac and co-written with Ed Sheeran & Johnny McDaid), Clean Bandit - 'Rockabye' (ft. Irish singer-songwriter Lisa Hannigan first came to light singing harmonies alongside Damien Rice. She contributed significantly to Rice’s platinum-selling debut ‘O’ and critically lauded follow up ‘9’, and has since been stretching her musical expertise in many directions: collaborating with artists as diverse as Ray LaMontagne, Richard Hawley, Herbie Hancock and Glen Hansard.

An exciting new talent, he has already gained support from Clash, Pigeons & Planes, Q Magazine and SBTV, as well as BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra, Beats1 and BBC Introducing. His debut EP is set for release in March and is produced by Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Adele).

At the 59th annual Grammy Awards held last night, Universal Music Publishing Group artists, writers and producers took home 17 awards in a wide range of major categories. UMPG artist Adele, the biggest winner of the evening, received five Grammy Awards including Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for her global smash hit ballad, 'Hello', Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for 25, the best-selling album of 2015 and 2016.

New Sounds 2017 is a playlist to showcase some of the hottest new acts for the coming year. The selection includes honey-voiced songstress Dua Lipa, electronic dance producer Jonas Blue and lo-fi funksters Formation, sitting alongside Liv Dawson’s elegant and contemporary melancholy, Fickle Friends’ bouncey indie-pop, Jamie N Commons’ and Kungs tropical collaboration and Cosima’s empowering pop.

Global superstar and UMPG writer Justin Timberlake has received an Oscar nomination for his infectious song, 'Can’t Stop The Feeling', which was the launching pad for the blockbuster Dreamworks Animation film, 'Trolls'. The song was earlier nominated for a Golden Globe.
