Gracie Abrams and Aaron Dessner honored at NMPA Annual Meeting

The National Music Publishers’ Association (NMPA) held its annual meeting on 11th June at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall, New York. 

Gracie Abrams was honored with the Billboard Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year award, recognizing exceptional songwriting. Presenting the award, Jody Gerson said: “She is gracious to her collaborators, thoughtful in every interaction… a class act and a role model. Gracie is truly reshaping our industry for the better, she is also one of the most authentic women I have ever met.” 

Receiving the award Gracie said: “(Jody) I admire you on so many levels. You are a warrior for your artists, and are an incredible executive and negotiator - you have navigated a world of wolves and are not just standing but leading.”

Aaron Dessner received the Billboard Triple Threat Award recognizing his success as a songwriter, producer and artist. In his speech he expressed his gratitude for being able to make songs with, “incredibly talented artists like Gracie Abrams and Taylor Swift, who have really honored me with opportunity over the years to be elevated by their genius.”
