Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) today announced the signing of songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, Miles Clinton James.
Recently shortlisted for Producer of the Year at the Music Business UK Awards, Miles is best known for having produced and co-written the entirety of Little Simz’s 2025 universally acclaimed album Lotus. He has also written with talent including Kokoroko, Cleo Sol, Sault, Tom Odell, Yussef Dayes, Yazmin Lacey, Foals & Tom Misch.
A beloved and trusted collaborator of some of today’s most exciting artists, Miles’ musicality and technical mastery that allows him to work across genres. Working out of his meticulously crafted analogue haven in Ray Davies’ Konk Studios, Miles pushes his collaborators to their creative limits, resulting in records that are drenched in depth, colour, and authenticity.
George Quann, UMPG International A&R Manager, said: "I’ve admired Miles from afar for many years, always seeing him as totally in a league of his own as a creative. When he brought on Lucy Francis of 17Days Music and Theo Oliver as management, it only solidified what we knew would be a truly exciting relationship. Miles has already worked on an array of world-class projects and we’re looking forward to amplifying the next phase of his journey."
Miles said: “George, Pete, Natasha and David understand the vision. We’re excited to have them and the entire Universal Music Publishing team on board. We’re only just getting started.”
