Harry Styles and Kid Harpoon were among the winners at the 2021 Ivor Novello awards. 

In a year where 70% of the winners were first-time recipients, UMPG’s writers were among those picking up an Ivor for the first time.

Harry Styles and Kid Harpoon received their first Ivors win with PRS for Music Most Performed Work with ‘Adore You’, while Barney Lister took home Best Song Musically and Lyrically with Obongjayar’s ‘God’s Own Children’. Matthew Hales was also awarded his first Ivor for Best Album with Lianne La Havas self-titled third album. 

Meanwhile Jon Bon Jovi received the Special International Award with Apple Music, recognising his 30 year musical partnership with Richie Sambora.
