Griff has been named 2021's BRITs Rising Star, supported by BBC Radio 1. UMPG's Rina Sawayama was also shortlisted for the award. 

2020 saw Griff nominated for the Ivors' inaugural Rising Star Award and soundtrack Disney's Christmas advert with 'Love Is A Compass'. 2021 has started off equally as strong, with Griff placing fifth on the BBC Sound of 2021 list. She released her latest track 'Black Hole' in January.  

Speaking of the win, Griff said: “In my head I'm still screaming from the phone call when I found out. It's honestly such a miracle: how on earth did we manage to win a BRIT and break through during a pandemic?" 

Griff will appear at The BRITs ceremony, which takes place at London’s O2 Arena on Tuesday, 11th May, and broadcast on ITV and the ITV Hub.

Following the win this morning, Griff also announced her forthcoming mixtape, 'One Foot In Front Of The Other', scheduled for 11th June.
