Mumford & Sons have unveiled the first single ‘Believe’ from their forthcoming album, ‘Wilder Mind’.
Released on the 27th April, ‘Believe’ has been described by the band as a “significant departure” from their folk roots. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Marcus Mumford admitted "We were in Texas at a wedding all together... I had to leave early by a day. By the time we met up in London a couple of weeks later to demo the songs that we'd been writing, the boys brought 'Believe' to the table and I got it and just sang."
The band's third album features twelve new tracks written collaboratively by the band, marking an evolutionary change to their creative process. Billboard describes it as having “done away with the band's beloved banjos in favour of a more stadium-ready rock sound in the vein of Coldplay.”
‘Wilder Mind’ is released on 4th May through Gentlemen of the Road / Island Records.
