The Pierces release their new album ‘Creation’ through Polydor Records this week.
Featuring the mesmeric single ‘Kings’, ‘Creation’ is the follow-up to sisters Allison and Catherine Pierce’s 2011 album, ‘You & I’.
The new release marks a stunning sonic evolution for the duo. From the opening title track, ‘Creation’ retains the breezy, melodious charm of their previous work whilst injecting a world-wise, sun-drenched sparkle. Tracks such as ‘Kings’ and ‘The Devil Is A Lonely Night’ match taut grooves to soaring harmonies whilst elsewhere, folk-pop ballads such as ‘The One I Want’ and ‘Flesh And Bone’ blend Californian sing-alongs with melancholic reflections.
With the Guardian describing the album as ‘exceptionally beautiful’ and a ‘top-drawer effort that establishes them [The Pierces] as major players’, ‘Creation’ looks set to mirror the achievements of the sisters’ 2011 breakthrough LP, cementing The Pieces’ position as both a critical and commercial success story.
