Paloma Faith releases her third studio album ‘A Perfect Contradiction’ today through RCA Records.
The new album is a very different record from 2012’s ‘Fall To Grace’, as Paloma explains; "Its tone is the very opposite of what the last album was…. I've been reflecting on things that have been tough but I'm almost celebrating that. If you haven't been to the bottom, you wouldn't be able to recognise how it feels to feel really amazing after all."
Paloma took her newly written songs to LA and Miami to give them a fresh slick of gloss. Album highlights include the strident charge of ‘Other Woman’ written with Plan B, the raunch of ‘Take Me’ with John Legend, and the tough, solo compositions ‘Impossible Heart’ and ‘Mouth To Mouth’.
"This album feels like the real me, almost," Paloma says. “I've realised that learning confidence really makes you capable of things... and that together we can be capable of anything."
The Telegraph comment that Paloma’s “punchy, uplifting set of pastiche Sixties and Seventies soul, R&B and disco is perfectly pitched with just an appealing hint of exaggeration.” Music OMH call ‘A Perfect Contradiction’ “a solid and accomplished return from Paloma Faith” adding that “she sounds more at ease with her sound than ever before.”
