Willis Earl Beal releases the follow up to his debut ‘Acousmatic Sorcery’ today, ‘Nobody Knows’ on Hot Charity / XL Recordings.

This second album moves on from the lo-fi stripped down feel of his debut – whilst losing none of the raw power of his voice. Talking about the process of making the album Beal says, "It started a long time ago. It essentially took 29 years to accumulate the experience and the emotion I put into this record."

Produced by Beal under the guise of ‘Nobody’, ‘Nobody knows’ features 13 songs that combine his soul baring vocals with sounds and arrangements rooted in everything from orchestral blues to ambient R&B, from gentle lullabies to pure cacophony. The album layers and loops his vocals with simple piano and guitar melodies, before adding garbage cans and toy electronics in re-imagined ways.
