MGMT release their self-titled third studio album today on Columbia Records.

Following their 2008 debut ‘Oracular Spectacular’ and 2010’s ‘Congratulations’, Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser continue to push the boundaries of modern pop music.

For their third album, they returned to Tarbox Road Studios to work with longtime collaborator Dave Fridmann. The result is a diverse and powerful collection of 10 songs that directly mirrors the duo's surrealist view of the everyday.

An early taster from the album ‘Alien Days’ – released as part of Record Store day - was described by Rolling Stone as a “shimmering, psychedelic soundscape” and Spin as “a sumptuously detailed, exquisitely zonked-out space-rock construction.”
