Enter Shikari’s third studio album ‘A Flash Flood of Colour’ entered the UK charts at No. 4 this week - an impressive showing for the St Albans quartert whose uncompromising sound could hardly be described as mainstream. As they put it themselves: "What an achievement for a band like us to be even in the top 5!"
The album was enthusiastically received by both the band's fans and the music press, with NME describing 'A Flash Flood of Colour' as Enter Shikari's “defining statement” and Q Magazine declaring them, "streets ahead of the competition."
One of the standout tracks from the album, 'Arguing with Thermometers' was uploaded to their YouTube channel at the start of the year, with a brilliant video featuring the band's lead singer Rue Reynolds dressed up as a newsreader. The track was selected by Zane Lowe on his Radio One show as his 'Hottest Track in the World'. The band may encompass a head melting array of genres, but their own description of themselves on Twitter seems to sum it up best: “Four humans making sonic energy on a tiny rock as it hurtles through space."
