Danger Mouse signs to UMP

The highly acclaimed Grammy award winning artist, producer and songwriter Danger Mouse has signed to Universal Music Publishing in an exclusive worldwide deal (excluding USA and Canada).

Danger Mouse (Brian Burton) has won countless awards for his work, and was recently declared by Esquire magazine to be one of the 75 most influential people of the 21st century. In 2011 he won ‘Producer of the Year’ at the Grammy awards, having been nominated for the award four times already.

His work began attracting attention in 2004 with ‘The Grey Album’, which combined vocals from Jay Z’s ‘The Black Album’ with instrumentals from The Beatles ‘The White Album’.

He formed Gnarls Barkley with Cee Lo Green in 2006, and the pair released two albums together; ‘St. Elsewhere’ and ‘The Odd Couple’. Their first single ‘Crazy’ was a huge commercial success – it became the first single to reach the top of the UK charts by downloads alone, proceeded to remain there for nine weeks, and went on to be the best selling single in the UK in 2006.

His projects include significant production and songwriting shares on last year’s Black Keys album ‘El Camino’, and the forthcoming Norah Jones album ‘Little Broken Hearts’.

He is currently producing the new U2 album.
