UMPG syncs for documentary ‘For No Good Reason’

‘For No Good Reason’ is director Charlie Paul’s documentary on the life and work of Ralph Steadman, the British artist who rose to fame and notoriety in the 1970s.

Steadman’s work was a running commentary on his view of world politics and humanity, found in publications in the US and UK such as ‘Rolling Stone’. Steadman’s friend, Johnny Depp, narrates a film of the footage, which took Paul 15 years to accumulate. It includes Steadman’s work with Hunter S Thompson, such as their coverage of ‘The Rumble in the Jungle’ and the creation of ‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas’.

The soundtrack includes music written and performed by several Universal Music Publishing artists: Aloe Blacc ‘Green Lights’, Crystal Castles ‘Empathy’, Ed Harcourt ‘Warfile’ and The All American Rejects ‘Gonzo’. In addition James Blake performs ‘I Only Know (What I Know Now)’ and Chaka Demus & Pliers perform Toots & the Maytals' ‘Bam Bam’.
