UMPG songwriters Kenny Loggins, Alanis Morissette, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Taylor Swift have all been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

Kenny Loggins has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide and defined entire eras of popular music with his chart-topping songs including “This Is It”, “I’m Alright”, “Footloose” and “Danger Zone”.

One of the most influential singer-songwriters in contemporary music, Alanis Morissette took to the stage during the ceremony to perform her iconic hit “You Oughta Know”, whilst UMPG artist and songwriter Brandi Carlile paid tribute to Alanis by performing her song “Uninvited”.

Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley’s legacy for global phenomenon KISS is undeniable. The band’s songs frequently rank among the Greatest Rock Songs of All Time and have influenced generations of musicians for over five decades.

Taylor Swift made history this year, becoming the youngest songwriter ever inducted, a recognition of a career that has redefined modern songwriting and inspired millions around the world. She is the best-selling female recording artist of all time, with more than 100 million albums sold.
