Jaylien

St. Louis native JAYLIEN is a rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, music composer, and sound designer. Raised in a musical household—his father a college choir director and minister of music, his mother a choir singer/songwriter—he developed his passion early, mastering piano, saxophone, and clarinet before high school. Inspired by Quincy Jones, Kanye West, Timbaland, Pharrell, and Max Martin, he began producing as a teen and earned his first major-label placement in 2007 with “Tell Me This (G-5)” on Baby Huey’s Notebook Paper (Jive/Sony Music).

A multiplatinum producer/songwriter, JAYLIEN has worked with Kanye West, Akon, will.i.am, Ty Dolla $ign, Brad Paisley, Britney Spears, Chris Brown, Young Thug, T-Pain, Snoop Dogg, and more. After briefly studying at SAE Institute in New York, he relocated to Atlanta, where a chance meeting with Akon led to his first worldwide hit, “Beautiful” featuring Kardinal Offishall and Colby O’Donis, which sold over 4 million singles and cemented his reputation behind the boards.

In 2013, JAYLIEN founded boutique indie label BLESSANDSEE MUSIC, discovering Kacy Hill and helping guide her signing to GOOD Music/Def Jam after her single “Experience” caught Kanye West’s attention. She later released both an EP and album. As a solo artist, JAYLIEN debuted with the Summer’s Over EP in 2016, followed by Summer’s Over 2 in 2018, praised by PAPER Magazine, with tracks like “We Fcuk” and “Hotel Costes” now amassing millions of streams. His songwriting credits include “Act Right” by Keyshia Cole & Young Thug (2017), collaborations with Ultra Music (2018), and compositions for Heron Preston and the Alexander Wang × Pepsi Black campaign.

In 2020, he composed the score for Offset’s debut fashion show at Paris Men’s Fashion Week—attended by Cardi B, Tyga, DJ Mustard, and Jerry Lorenzo—and created music for Jordan Brand’s Black & Brown community commitment campaign, an ongoing partnership. During the pandemic, JAYLIEN returned to recording, joining early DONDA 2 sessions with Kanye West in 2022 and releasing the single “Take Me With You,” followed by his fully self-written, produced, mixed, and mastered album The Blue Project.

By 2024, he expanded his creative reach through Nike × Jayson Tatum campaigns and the release of “Can You Feel It.” In 2025, JAYLIEN relaunched BLESSANDSEE through a strategic partnership with Vydia/GAMMA, empowering independent artists with major-level innovation. The label’s first signing, Philadelphia R&B artist Devon Culture, debuted with “Slow It Down,” produced by JAYLIEN and legendary Troy Taylor, on August 22, 2025. He remains active in the studio with A-list artists on their upcoming albums.

With 2026 in full creative stride, JAYLIEN continues merging music, culture, and cinematic storytelling through BLESSANDSEE—not just a label, but a movement and lifestyle.
