Introducing new signing Bastille

Bastille began life as a one man band, the project of singer / songwriter Dan Smith, until in mid 2010 Bastille grew three extra members and became a fully-fledged four piece. Debut single ‘Flaws / Icarus’ was released through Young & Lost club in spring last year, with ‘Flaw’s’ attracting over 250,000 hits on YouTube. Well received gigs at Glastonbury and Isle of Wight Festival followed, plus some less conventional locations including atop a canal boat, and even at St Pancras International train station.

They followed up with the ‘Laura Palmer EP’ in November last year, referencing Dan’s love of David Lynch’s ‘Twin Peaks’. Inspiring, original, heartfelt pop that may well succeed in Dan’s aim of “making pop music that had some integrity and had some sort of brains behind it.” An album is promised for 2012, though whether you’ll catch them cheering up London’s commuters again remains to be seen...
