Sigur Rós tracks appear in Aquaman and Lords of Chaos trailers
UMPG band Sigur Rós are, unsurprisingly, working their magic in the world of film this year, with tracks appearing in trailers for both Aquaman and Lords of Chaos.
‘Varúð’ and ‘Dauðalogn’, both taken from Sigur Rós’ 2012 album Valtari, soundtrack the thrilling first look at Lords of Chaos, which explores the Norwegian Black Metal scene. The film, which hit US screens on 8 February and is scheduled for on demand release on 22 February, also features a score written by the band.
‘Sæglópur,’ meanwhile, features heavily in DC’s Aquaman. Kicking off the trailer and backing the film’s love story, the track, which was first released in 2006 on their album Takk, acts as a stunning accompaniment to the epic spectacle. Aquaman is in cinemas now.
Known for their experimental, ethereal sound, Sigur Rós have always featured heavily in film, from The Life Aquatic to Mysterious Skin.
