Universal Music Publishing won the award for Best Sync Broadcast Advertising at the Music + Sound Awards last night. The winning sync was the use of Elton John’s ‘Tiny Dancer’ in John Lewis’ ad for their home insurance. The endearing spot shows a young girl spinning through the house to Elton’s classic song – almost toppling everything as she whirls past.
‘Tiny Dancer’ was written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin, and appears on Elton’s 1971 album ‘Madman Across the Water’.
The Music+Sound Awards are the world’s first and only global awards programme to recognise and celebrate the indispensable role and outstanding contribution that both music and sound design play in the media.
