Seinabo Sey on US tour with Ms. Lauryn Hill

Seinabo says: "Lauryn Hill's solo albums are the reason why I sing and write as I do. Her incredible texts about freedom and love have brought me to life countless of times. It's the greatest honor of my musical life to be invited to this tour, I can't think of anything more exciting than doing this. I am looking forward to sing my heart out and see my idol every night."

It turns out that the appreciation for the other's music is mutual. It was through an email that Lauryn Hill's representatives came in contact with Seinabo Sey, to invite her to the tour. Then everything went really fast and now it is a fact that in three weeks Seinabo Sey opens the first of a total of four gigs for the American legend.

It was in 2013 that Seinabo Sey broke through with singles like 'Younger' and the subsequent 'Hard Time' (2014). Even before the debut album was released, her face had been featured on a Swedish stamp, performed at the Nobel Peace Prize and won a Swedish Grammy for Best New Artist. Two acclaimed EP's were released, 'For Madeleine' and 'For Maudo', which are dedicated to her mother and father, and were followed up in 2015 by the first full-length album 'Pretend'. In 2018, album number two was released, 'I’m a Dream', and the same year she did a triumphant gig at Stockholm's 12.000 capacity Globe Arena where she also performed 'Everything is Everything' by Lauryn Hill.
