Sam Deep is one of the defining producers in South Africa’s amapiano movement. Celebrated for chart topping singles such as "Shela" and "Thandaza", his records move comfortably between underground dance floors and mainstream radio and streaming. His music reflects the street-level drama of everyday South African life: a mix of bold aspiration, bravado, late-night energy and flashes of spirituality. Before music took over, Sam Deep had ambitions of becoming a professional footballer, a path that eventually gave way to the studio and DJ booth.
