Franz Ferdinand and Max Richter were both honored at the 2026 O2 Silver Clef Awards, which raise money for the UK's largest music therapy charity, Nordoff and Robbins. This year marked the 50th anniversary of the event, with the awards held for the first time at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Franz Ferdinand received the Best Group Award. More than two decades after they exploded onto the international stage with their eponymous debut album, the band's music continues to resonate globally. They have become, both commercially and critically, one of the biggest UK groups in the world, selling more than 10 million albums, generating 2.5 billion streams to date, earning 14 platinum albums, and winning BRIT, Ivor Novello, and Mercury Prize awards, as well as receiving multiple Grammy nominations.

"We're incredibly proud to receive the Best Group Award at this year's O2 Silver Clef Awards alongside an amazing lineup of artists who are being honored this year. We've always believed in the power of music to change lives and hugely admire the support Nordoff and Robbins provides for people through music therapy." - Franz Ferdinand

Max Richter was recognized with the Contemporary Music Award. One of the most influential composers of his generation, his fusion of classical technique and electronic technology - heard across genre-defining solo albums and countless scores for film, dance, art, and fashion - has won him legions of fans around the world and blazed a trail for a generation of musicians.

Max Richter said: "Thank you for believing in the power of contemporary music. I'm deeply grateful to be part of a world where music can make such a tangible difference in people's lives."

Nordoff and Robbins delivers music therapy to a wide range of clients across the UK, including some of the most vulnerable people in society. Click here to learn more.
