The wondrous and enigmatic Sydney storyteller Alex The Astronaut aka Alex Lynn has today released her debut EP 'To Whom It May Concern', and Universal Music Publishing couldn't be more excited to share it with you.
The 21-year Sydney native currently resides in New York, balancing the pressures of a competitive soccer scholarship at Long Island University, (where she's also studying Maths and Physics), with the exciting early stages of a blossoming music career.
It's this combination of bold and diverse new life experiences in a foreign country, which ultimately resulted in Alex crafting her observations into a dynamic collection of folk-influenced pop tunes songs under the moniker, Alex the Astronaut. But don't take our word for it, check out the EP!
Featuring the singles 'Already Home', which received high rotation on triple j and FBi, and ‘Rockstar City’, which is currently sitting at number 12 on the Triple J Hitlist, Universal Music Publishing is delighted to present to you, 'To Whom It May Concern', the debut EP from Alex The Astronaut.
In line with the release, Alex has also unveiled the official music video for second single 'Rockstar City'. The clip follows Alex through the streets of New York City and Coney Island, watching as she slowly strips off the layers-upon-layers she has been wearing and hiding under. Directed and produced by Roland Ellis and Edwina Hagon who also created the clip for ‘Already Home’, the duo’s concept draws parallels to the track wherein Alex sheds her shyness, embraces her vulnerability and finds the courage to be herself.
