  New Signing: Andrew Lloyd Webber
Universal Music Group and Andrew Lloyd Webber have signed long-term, global recording and music publishing agreements which renew and expand a long-standing partnership between the world’s leading music company and the most successful composer of our time.

Under these new arrangements with Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Group, Universal Music Group will exclusively distribute and market the composer’s recorded music catalogue in digital and physical formats, and Universal Music Publishing Group will administer and exploit Really Useful’s extensive music publishing interests, including their representation for film, TV, advertising and other mediums.

New Signing: Justin Bieber

The world-wide publishing deal encompasses all of Bieber's catalogue, including his debut album My World (Island) and his upcoming album My World (Part II), due in March. "I'm excited for Justin to be with Universal Music Publishing Group as they look at him not only as an artist, but as a producer and a writer, and their belief in that is a long term vision," said Scooter Braun, manager for Justin Bieber. "They are partnering with us to grow a career in a promising young man. I'm excited for Justin as he continues on his creative path." Bieber's debut album, My World, has gone Platinum in the U.S. and reached No. 1 on the Pop iTunes chart. All seven of the album's tracks have made an appearance on the Billboard Hot 100.

New Signing: Kenny Loggins

UMPG has recently signed a world-wide (excluding the United States and Canada) publishing agreement with singer/songwriter Kenny Loggins. Loggins' No. 1 hit single "Footloose" received high popularity from Footloose the motion picture and was recognized in the American Film Institute's 100 Years...100 Songs list. "Footloose" was also nominated for an Academy Award in 1984 for Best Original Song. A musical remake of the film is scheduled to begin production in March. Kenny Loggins was previously signed to Sony/ATV.



Ryan Leslie

Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) announced the signing of an exclusive world-wide publishing agreement with songwriter/producer and recording artist Ryan Leslie.

The deal encompasses Ryan's co-writes with some of today's top recording artists including "Closer" and "Said & Done" with Mary J. Blige; "The Fabolous Life" and "All My Ladies" with Fabolous; "So Gone" with Jazmine Sullivan; "Old School New School (I Told Yall)" and "Like A Radio" with LL Cool J; "Precious" with Jim Jones; "Take Away Love" with Letoya Luckett; as well as Ryan's self-titled album released in early 2009 and his album Transition recently released on Motown.



Cash Money

UMPG has signed a worldwide exclusive agreement with the publishing affiliates of independent music giant Cash Money Records. The union brings hundreds of Cash Money copyrights into UMPG's system, including ones recorded and released by such artists as Lil Wayne, Birdman, Juvenile, Hot Boyz, Big Tymers and BG.

Cash Money's founders and owners, brothers Ronald and Bryan Williams, stated "We look forward to ramping up our publishing division and intend to aggressively pursue new deals. With the administrative muscle and creative savvy offered by David Renzer and his team at UMPG, we expect to accomplish great things in the coming years and continue our reign at the top of the music business."



Danny Elfman

David Renzer, Chairman & CEO, Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) announced the signing of GRAMMY award-winning, Hollywood blockbuster composer and Oingo Boingo co-founder Danny Elfman to a worldwide publishing deal. The deal encompasses the entire Oingo Boingo catalogue, as well as all publishing interests Danny Elfman has retained in his film and television compositions, and includes the publishing interests he retains in new works.

Danny and his older brother Richard Elfman started Oingo Boingo (originally called the Mystic Knights of Oingo-Boingo) for Richard's directorial debut, Forbidden Zone - now considered a cult classic by Elfman fans. Hit singles from the band included in the publishing deal are, "Weird Science," "Just Another Day," "Winning Side," "Dead Man's Party," "When the Lights Go Out," "Little Girls," and "Only a Lad."
