Palma Violets release album ‘Danger In The Club’

The South London four-piece release their eagerly anticipated second album ‘Danger In The Club’ via Rough Trade.

Palma Violets have gone from putting on riotous DIY gigs in their London studio to traveling the world playing to enraptured sold-out crowds and festivals including Coachella and Glastonbury. Their debut ‘180’ had been lauded by press outlets including the New York Times, who called the album “raggedly charming,” and Rolling Stone, who praised its “garageland guitars… and psych-nuggets organ” and declared the album one of 2013’s best debuts.

Ivor Novello Award Winners 2014

Four Universal Music Publishing artists took home Ivor Novello awards yesterday. James Blake topped the Best Contemporary Song category with his single ‘Retrograde’ whilst The Chemical Brothers won the award for Outstanding Song Collection. Mumford & Sons picked up the prize for International Achievement and the legendary Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement award.

Palma Violets release debut album '180'

Palma Violets release their hotly anticipated debut album ‘180’ today on Rough Trade Records. The London four-piece formed last year and up until recently have had minimum online presence and no songs recorded, instead preferring for people to come and experience their raucous live shows at their Lambeth studio 180.  The album is named after this building, which also features on the cover.
