Liv Dawson's debut track, ‘Tapestry’ was intimate, elegant and spellbinding, simple yet evocative, classic feeling but distinctly contemporary - highlighted by lyrics and vocals that are wise and confident well beyond her years. As far as introductions go, it was a stirring first offering from the young UK artist and an enchanting promise of more to come.
Following on from recent track ‘Still’, Liv Dawson continues to wow with new song ‘Reflection’. The third in a series of impressive songs to be offered up by the newly turned 18 year old from the suburban town of Shepperton since late spring - ‘Reflection’ is another slice of contemporary spellbinding pop that displays Liv’s incredible talent for one of such a tender age.
And it’s all about that voice. Picking up where ’Tapestry’ and ’Still’ left off, ‘Reflection’ further showcases her effortlessly elegant, stirring voice, and intrinsic stylistic range - all wrapped up in an intimacy that is often lost in contemporary pop music. This is heart-rendering and accomplished modern soul, all brought to its full potential with atmospheric production.
Talking about the song, Liv says: “Reflection is about trying to understand how to express myself to someone who has changed, a relationship that’s changed, trying to figure out what’s going wrong, but then realising that really it’s me that's changed and it’s a reflection of myself.”
