Last week She Is The Music held an inaugural 'Women Sharing the Spotlight' event in Los Angeles.
At the event UMPG songwriter and artist Gracie Abrams and her female team were honored, along with 50 other impactful women in the music industry. Rooted in the conviction that 'We Are Stronger Together', each honoree was asked to nominate another woman they admire to share the spotlight.
Alica Keys introduced Gracie Abrams saying: “When I found out that she has, like, 40 women who are a part of her team … this is the living embodiment, the walking the walk, the breathing the breath, the doing the thing that we’re talking about. Because it’s one thing to talk about it, it’s another thing to actually live it and breathe it and execute it and be it and believe in it.”
She is The Music, co-founded by Jody Gerson, is a nonprofit organization increasing the number of women working in music – songwriters, engineers, producers, artists and industry professionals.
