Last night the winners of The Ivors with Amazon Music were revealed at the annual awards ceremony held at Grosvenor House, London, recognising and celebrating exceptional achievements in songwriting and screen composing. UMPG artists and writers U2, Robbie Williams and Brandon Flowers were all honoured with special awards.
U2 received the Fellowship Of The Ivors Academy, a prestigious honour reserved for legendary songwriters and composers who have mastered and defined their craft. U2’s distinctive sound and constant innovation has resulted in 15 iconic studio albums, over 175 million records sold worldwide and 28 industry-defining landmark tours.
The PRS for Music Icon Award was presented to Robbie Williams in recognition of a songwriting career that has touched millions and defined a generation. With 15 UK number one albums, countless chart-topping hits, and an enduring connection with fans, he remains one of Britain’s most iconic songwriters.
Brandon Flowers was honoured with the Special International Award. As frontman of The Killers and a solo artist, Flowers has crafted anthems that fuse poetic melancholy with widescreen pop ambition – evidenced by an unbroken run of UK number one albums - he stands as one of the most influential songwriters of his generation.
Best Television Soundtrack was awarded to True Detective: Night Country (Vince Pope via HBO) and Best Original Film Score to The Substance (Raffertie via Universal Pictures).
Congratulations to all our winners and nominees!
