Rachel Zeffira

Rachel Zeffira is a multi-instrumentalist and soprano, born in the remote Kootenay region of Canada and now based in London. In 2010 she formed the band Cat's Eyes with Faris Badwan from The Horrors. Their self-titled debut album was released the following year to widespread acclaim, and featured highly in many end of year critics' polls - including The Times, Mojo and NME.

Since then Zeffira has been working on her debut solo album 'The Deserters' which is to be released December 2012. A beautiful, ambitious and richly layered record, it’s entirely written and produced by Zeffira herself - the orchestra being recorded in London's legendary Abbey Road studios.

Her early solo work has already been enthusiastically received by Pitchfork and NME, amongst others, and she has also received critical praise for her live performances around the UK and Europe.
