Dinand Woesthoff has an enormous passion and love for music and an ambition to be successful in all that he does. He is the singer and main songwriter of KANE, one of the biggest and most successful rock bands in the Netherlands.
When Woesthoff meets guitarist Dennis van Leeuwen in the late nineties, it’s an encounter that will change their lives forever. Sharing the same drive, love of music and burning ambition to succeed, they decide to form KANE. The band conquers their home country at the speed of light. They effortlessly overcome the usual obstacles that all young bands have to face: getting a recording contract, airplay on major radio stations, hits, club tours, triumphs at major festivals such as Pinkpop, Rock Werchter and Rock Am Ring, winning a pile of awards including three MTV European Music Awards for Best Dutch Band. KANE achieves all of that in no time.
The band has sold over one million albums and DVD’s in Holland and Belgium, has received multiple platinum and gold albums and DVD’s, and has won over a dozen of music awards. They did successful European tours supporting Simple Minds and Maroon 5, and supported Bon Jovi in the Amsterdam Arena stadium.
One of the reasons behind their success is the fact that they managed to create a clear-cut KANE sound from the very start, with Dinand deserving most of the credit as the main songwriter. His compositions are strongly melodic, catchy and versatile. “My passion for making music grows with each song I write. It’s an unconditional fire, with which I try to make each next step a step forward,” says Woesthoff.
