Universal Music Group (UMG), the world leader in music-based entertainment, today announced the acquisition of the entirety of Neil Diamond’s historic song catalog through Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), its leading global publishing division, as well as the rights to all recordings from his career, including 110 unreleased tracks, an unreleased album and archival long form videos.

Today, Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), Universal Music Group’s leading global music publishing division, announced the acquisition of 17-time GRAMMY Award winner Sting’s career catalog of music. This historic, comprehensive worldwide agreement for the catalog of one of the most commercially successful and critically-acclaimed songwriters of the last half-century encompasses the entirety of both Sting’s solo works as well as those with The Police, including “Roxanne,” “Every Breath You Take,” “Shape Of My Heart,” “If I Ever Lose My Faith In You,” “Fields Of Gold,” “Desert Rose,” “Message in a Bottle,” “Englishman in New York” and “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” among countless other global hits.

Universal Music Publishing China and She Is The Music Partner for all-women songwriting camp in Beijing

Universal Music Publishing (UMP) China, the China division of a leading, global music publisher, and She Is The Music (SITM), a global nonprofit working to increase the number of women in music, partnered to launch a Beijing-based all-women songwriting camp, Untagged 2021, comprised of nearly 30 women musicians from nine countries and regions. This marks the nonprofit’s first songwriting camp in Asia.

UMPG named Publisher of The Year, Lil Baby named Songwriter Of The Year at ASCAP 2021 Rhythm and Soul Music Awards

UMPG has been named Publisher of the Year by ASCAP at the 2021 Rhythm & Soul Music Awards. Winning for the third consecutive year, the company was honored for its writers’ success with songs including “Blinding Lights” (The Weeknd), “Rockstar” (DaBaby) and “Laugh Now Cry Later” (Drake). Now in 34th year, the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards recognizes distinguished songwriters, producers and publishers behind hip-hop, R&B and gospel music’s biggest hits. 

Lil Baby was named ASCAP Songwriter of the Year for hits including “Baby,” “The Bigger Picture,” “Emotionally Scarred,” “For the Night” and more. The Grammy-nominated songwriter and artist has been one of the most dominant and critically acclaimed names in rap since his first release in 2017. His 2020 solo album My Turn debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Lil Baby was also named to Time Magazine’s 2021 “100 Next” List and earlier this month released a collaborative album The Voice of the Heroes with Lil Durk.

Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), Universal Music Group’s leading, global music publishing division, today announced the acquisition of Bob Dylan’s entire catalog of songs. This landmark agreement encompasses more than 600 copyrights spanning 60 years, from 1962’s cultural milestone “Blowin’ In The Wind” to this year’s epic “Murder Most Foul.”
