Emilio Mercuri is back with new single 'Orca' crafted deep in isolation throughout Melbourne’s recent statewide lockdown.
“I have been obsessive in my attempts to recreate the sensation of being underwater in my music. I think that you can feel that at points throughout Orca”, Emilio says. On the moments around the writing and recording of Orca, he says, “Time is truly standing still at the moment, if anything it seems non-existent. I really wanted to encapsulate an intentionally full journey into a brief moment of time with this song.”
Since returning to home soil from the UK, he’s been crafting his debut solo offering alongside Liam Gough (The Teskey Brothers), Xavier Dunn (Jack River, Eliott) and Taka Perry (Ruel, Sycco). A collection of raw and heartfelt, folk inspired songs set for release early 2021.
