Alex The Astronaut Releases New Single 'Happy Song'

Alex The Astronaut Releases New Single 'Happy Song' ahead of her upcoming Space Tour this November.

Officially premiered on Triple J last night, this comes after having for the first time played the song live at Splendour in the Grass earlier this year.

She says, "I wrote this song at the start of the year about the awkward middle part of a breakup when you don't really know what you're doing. I recorded it with Sam (Cromack) and Dan (Hanson) from Ball Park Music (they both sing on the dadadas) and it took us about nine months to get it right so it's pretty much a song baby. I'm really proud of it and I'm so excited for people to hear it"

Alex has been busy this year, she is currently on tour in Europe and has played festival crowds like the UK's The Great Escape, Primavera in Spain and Neighbourhood Festival in Manchester. She has also done the festival circuit at home in Australia as she has appeared this year at Spin Off Festival, Triple J's One Night Stand and Splendour in the Grass following the release of her previous single 'Waste Of Time'.

Alex The Astronaut has a knack for honest and relatable lyrics, her music has the essence to make you feel at home instantly. 'Happy Song' is no different, it runs through with bitter-sweet lyrics, yet, just reminds you of sunny afternoons and life's intimate moments. Makes you feel uplifted and happy, whilst keeps you on the ground with its honesty.
